Concluso l’incontro di Vienna tra Sargsyan ed Aliyev
L’incontro previsto per oggi tra il Presidente della Repubblica d’Armenia Serzh Sargsyan e il Presidente azero Ilham Aliyev si è da poco concluso. Il tema principale è stato il ripristino degli accordi di pace nel Nagorno-Karabakh dopo l’attacco azero del 2-5 aprile scorso. Erano presenti i Ministri degli esteri armeno ed azero, i co-presidenti del Gruppo di Minsk dell’OSCE, i Ministri degli Esteri di Francia, USA e Russia, e il rappresentante del Presidente in carica, Andrzej Kasprzyk.
I partecipanti hanno ribadito l’impossibilità di trovare una soluzione militare al conflitto. I membri del Gruppo di Minsk hanno insistito affinché venga rispettato l’accordo di cessate-il.fuoco del 1994 e del 1995.
I Presidenti hanno convenuto sulla necessità di implementare un meccanismo investigativo dell’OSCE, in modo da ridurre al minimo i rischi di ulteriori violenze. Inoltre hanno raggiunto un accordo sull’espansione dell’esistente Ufficio del Personale Rappresentativo del Presidente in carica dell’OSCE. Infine, hanno siglato un accordo anche sullo scambio dei dati per la ricerca delle persone scomparse, sotto gli auspici della Croce Rossa Internazionale.
Il prossimo passo sarà un incontro da tenersi a giugno in una località da concordare, per gettare le basi di un nuovo negoziato che sia omni-comprensivo.
Il Presidente della Repubblica del Nagorno-Karabakh, Pako Sahakyan, e il suo team, saranno partecipi ai negoziati, per una pace di lunga durata nella regione.
The meeting in #Vienna between presidents of #Armenia Serzh Sagsyan & #Azerbaijan Ilham Aliev has concluded. Main concern was to resume the #NagornoKarabakh peace talks after the Azerbaijani aggression against Karabakh, in April 2-5, 2016.
Present were the Armenian and Azerbaijani ministers of foreign affairs, #OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries’ Russia, USA, France MFAs, their representatives in the Group and personal representative of the chairperson in office, Andrzej Kasprzyk.The President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic – #Artsakh Pako Sahakyan and his team shall be included in these negotiations, as well, for a comprehensive and long lasting peace in the region.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, Secretary of State of the United States of America John Kerry, and State Secretary for European Affairs of France Harlem Desir, representing the co-chair countries of the OSCE Minsk Group, met today with President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to advance a peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the joint statement of the OSCE MG co-chairing countries’ foreign ministers reads,
They reiterated that there can be no military solution to the conflict. The Co-Chairs insisted on the importance of respecting the 1994 and 1995 ceasefire agreements.
The Presidents reiterated their commitment to the ceasefire and the peaceful settlement of the conflict. To reduce the risk of further violence, they agreed to finalize in the shortest possible time an OSCE investigative mechanism. The Presidents also agreed to the expansion of the existing Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson in Office. Finally, they agreed to continue the exchange of data on missing persons under the auspices of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to which the Presidents committed during the Paris summit of October 2014.
The Presidents agreed on a next round of talks, to be held in June at a place to be mutually agreed, with an aim to resuming negotiations on a comprehensive settlement.
